HT-NEXT 2020 Will Now Take Place Nov. 30 - Dec. 3, 2020

Exciting New Concept Created to Reflect the "New Normal" to Help Our Industry Navigate Recovery

The team at HT-NEXT has been working to create an exciting new approach to help jump start our hospitality industry at a time when it will be most critical. Hospitality Technology and HTNG, together with input from industry stakeholders, have determined it is in the best interest of the hotel technology industry to postpone HT-NEXT to Monday, November 30 - Thursday, December 3, 2020. The in-person event will continue to take place at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, AZ.

As we all face this unprecedented disruption due to the global pandemic, it is clear that technology will lead the path to recovery. HT-NEXT is being re-designed to provide access to the latest technology, services, education and, most-importantly, peer-to-peer sharing to support the “new normal” in hospitality.

As part of this new approach, the in-person event will feature vast access to insights, education, peer-to-peer sharing and technology demos right at the time when our industry will need to create the new normal through the application of technology. The in-person environment will reflect guidelines for gathering in a safe and comfortable way.

We’re further expanding HT-NEXT with an innovative new virtual approach that will increase access and enable our industry to participate both in-person and virtually, while also powering a richer experience on site. The virtual experience will mirror and amplify the in-person conference and will provide assurance that HT-NEXT will take place virtually if the industry cannot convene physically.

We’ll keep you updated as we work toward this common goal of reopening hospitality, and truly hope to see you in December. In the meantime, please find answers to several helpful FAQs below.

Is the HT-NEXT conference scheduled to take place in person?

Yes. HT-NEXT 2020 is scheduled to take place in person, at the same location as previously planned, over new dates.

If I’m registered to attend, will my registration be transferred to the new event dates?

  • Yes. We will send you a new email confirmation in the weeks ahead confirming your registration.
  • From there, we will keep you informed of updates about the event, including important agenda updates, as we get closer to the event.
  • Two weeks prior to HT-NEXT, we will email you a registration badge code.

Will I need to make hotel reservations?

Yes. Once the HT-NEXT hotel room block opens at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, we will send you a notification with instructions to reserve your room. The room rate is $269/night plus applicable taxes.

Will sponsorship be transferred to the new program?

Yes. Signed sponsorship contracts will be transferred to the new dates. Sponsors will have access to all four days of HT-NEXT as outlined in their previously-secured packages. In addition, sponsors will receive added benefits, activated in a virtual platform at no additional cost. We’ll be following up individually with sponsors in the days ahead.

What more can you share about the virtual HT-NEXT component?

HT-NEXT will include a virtual environment that will mirror the in-person event for an intuitive user experience and maximum engagement. More details will be shared as we develop the program.

What safety precautions will you follow given the COVID-19 situation?

  • We will continue to take direction from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as national and local government authorities.
  • We will be working with the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess team on heightened levels of cleanliness to provide a safe and comfortable environment to meet.

What if the in-person HT-NEXT event cannot take place?

We have every expectation of the in-person event taking place. If the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and/or national or local government agencies provide guidance not to gather, HT-NEXT 2020 will be produced exclusively in an interactive virtual environment that will emulate the feeling of an in-person event. Features will include virtual exhibits, networking lounges, virtual theaters and workgroup sessions, one-on-one meetings, interactive demos, and more.
